- To be a Lifetime satisfied patient, your teeth must remain straight for the rest of your life. To keep your smile beautiful, include the wear of your retainers on a regular basis.
- Retainers will close slight spaces, correct minor rotations, and hold your teeth in place if worn properly!
- Please wear your retainers as instructed-if not, your teeth will attempt to return to their original positions.
- Do not wrap in a napkin for they can be thrown away. There is a FEE to replace lost or broken retainers. The two best places for retainers are in your mouth or in their case.
- NEVER take retainers out of your house unless instructed. Even on vacations!
- Keep retainers clean and fresh by brushing them with toothpaste—nothing else! They are made of plastic and can be damaged.
- Please bring your retainers for each visit. The visit must be rescheduled if you forget.
- If your retainers cause discomfort, please call the office right away for an appointment.
- It is very important that your retainers not be left in a hot car or they will warp.
- Remember that poor retainer wear causes tightness, discomfort and often requires retainer replacement or, in extreme cases, variations of retreatment.
- One year of supervised retention is included with your treatment. After one year, there will be an office visit charge.
- Again, you will continue to love your nice new smile if you take your orthodontic retention seriously.
